BAR HARBOR (SEP. 9, 2009)

This edition of my Blog is
dedicated to our daughter,
ANNE MARIE BERARD,
who is about to participate in her second
SEATTLE’s BREAST CANCER 3-DAY WALK.
(Twenty miles per day),
and to my cousin,
GRETHE GRINDBERG,
(from Namsos, Norway),
who recently battled chemotherapy
and breast removal,
but immerged a conqueror!
Our thoughts and good wishes
are always with these two
extraordinarily brave and dedicated ladies,
but especially during this weekend,
when they join hands with countless others,
who are donating their time and efforts
to eradicate this curse.
THANK YOU,
ANNE AND GRETHE,
FOR MAKING OTHERS SEE THE NEED
TO SUPPORT THIS GREAT CAUSE
.
Had a quiet, sunny, lazy day of summer…
Took some doing this morning, but finally got our medicines picked up at Walmart.
They’re in the process of moving to a new Superstore, with Grand Opening Day next Wednesday…
How lucky are we?
Did some shopping…
Did some sightseeing in the town of Ellsworth…
Took a nap…
Went to Bar Harbor to do some checking on a cruise onboard a schooner…
Did some minor repairs…
Had the truck washed… It really needed it!
Took off to explore some of Acadia National Park, which took us up to Mt. Cadillac for a glorious sunset…
Came home where we had fresh corn on the cob and a wonderful shrimp salad dinner…
All we can say is, How great can life be?
Of course, if you’re battling breast cancer, life may not be so good…
Nonetheless, know this: There are people who you have working for you, who go beyond the call of duty (in all fashions of ways) in order to find a solution to this menace…
And to those good and brave souls Luanne and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
