Howdy from Wood’s Landing Campground, outside of Yutan, Nebraska!
A skip and a hop West of Omaha…
I didn’t write yesterday because there wasn’t much to comment on, and you’ve seen the pictures…
Besides that, we had a very frustrating morning….
I’ll try to be brief…
Both Lu’s and my prescriptions for medicines were running low…
Tried to refill at Walmart….
Found that (for me) my last prescription only allowed for one pill a day instead of two….
Lu took a blood test in Perham, and the results were supposed to be faxed to her doctor, but instead were faxed to some lab…
Both our prescriptions had been faxed to Walmart in Bellingham, which, of course, “sat” on them, so we spent a lot of time on the phone back and forth to doctor’s offices and Walmart stores both in Fairmont and Bellingham.
I think we have it fixed… At least I hope so.
We spent the rest of the morning sightseeing Fairmont, which turned out to be a very quaint town straddling five interconnected lakes… As you can imagine, there were wonderful homes along the shorelines…
We found a restaurant (Lake Sisseton Saloon) right at the water’s edge, where we had a wonderful lunch.
Went home to wait for calls from doctors and Walmarts, then back again to Fairmont to pick up our prescriptions (there is nine miles between Welcome and Fairmont). We decided to have dinner at the “Saloon,” but ended up having hors d’oeuvres instead… Had more hors d’oeuvres at another lake and another “well known” (to locals) establishment before heading home… Nice evening capped by an equally nice sunset on our way home.

Packed up early and was on the way before really waking up…
Nah, kidding!
Not much to talk about, though, if you’ve seen my pictures…
I’m sure the farmers around the “breadbasket” of America would argue to the contrary, but when you drive from point A to point B and the scenery is virtually the same, then you let your pictures talk and forget about the writing…
Having said that (as you know), Luanne has become fascinated with barns, so I keep my eyes out for them while she knits her way around America…
She’s doing a fantastic job on an afghan blanket for us… It‘s almost finished, but I’m sure she’ll finish two or three more before we get home.
It’s quite amusing, by the way, to see her reaction as I forewarn her of an upcoming barn… The needles go flying, and the camera clanks against the windshield, and she bristles with glee when she gets a good shot… It’s great!
It’s 11:00pm and I’m not going to comment any further on our trip down here today…
Take a look at my pictures, and read my comments there if you want…. I’m going to bed!
