JAMESTOWN, NORTH DAKOTA to PERHAM, MINNESOTA

Good evening.... (or morning, in Norway...)
We made it to Perham, Minnesota, where we found our home park (Golden Eagle Vacationland) just outside the town.... Only took us about 3 1/2 hrs from Jamestown, but would've taken a lot less if we didn't encounter those construction zones.... Oh well....
It was amazing to me how dissimilar North Dakota and Minnesota is - in just a matter of a few miles.... The flatness of N.D. gives way to gently rolling terrain, and all of a sudden there are lakes everywhere... Small ones, big ones, and in-between ones.... Really gorgeous! And we also noticed the very real difference in homesteads.... We've become accustomed to looking at - if not "rickety," at least not very well kept - farms all the way from Washington, and, all of a sudden, as we enter Minnesota, every farmstead we see is neatly painted and well kept. Is that because of a Scandinavian heritage? Makes you wonder....
(I must be careful here not to offend anyone, 'cause we've seen some beautiful farms in all the states we've travelled, but the change we experienced as soon as we enter MN. is very noticable.)
Anyway, Golden Eagle is huge, with a mingling of homes, permanent Park Models. trailers, tents, and visitors who only use the premises for launching their boats....
Very busy, and very well laid out..... Lu and I took a long walk around the park, then drove back to town (about 5 miles) to check it out.... Got a patch for Luanne's bike tire, since it developed a flat along the way.... Also found a little tavern, The Suds Tavern, off main Street, where we dove in for some refreshments and an early dinner..... Very good, and very refreshing....
We're home now.... Got the news going, and are just relaxing after a nice and easy ride from Jamestown.... We have eight nights here, and the good thing about that is that it doesn't cost us a dime, since this is our Home park....
OK..... That' it for now.... Here's the photo link:

As we say in Norway, Ha det!
Take care and check us out again......
