CLEARMONT to FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA (NOV. 22, 2009)

I know I’ve been lax in my writing lately, but, there really hasn’t been anything worth writing about…
The last three days have been virtually excitement free…
We went on a boardwalk-like walk (asphalt path) along the lake where Clermont sits (don’t know the name, and I’m too lazy to look it up)…
Went shopping at Walmart a couple of times…
Filled up the truck there (cheapest diesel around: $2.72/gal)…
Drove around a couple of neighborhoods, just to get the feel for the place…
Took the bikes and rode around our RV Park quite a few times…
Lu walked around the perimeter three times every day…
A guy came and asked if he could wash my trailer and truck, and I couldn’t turn him down, since he only charged $50...
And we had a wonderful seafood dinner at Cody Jack’s Restaurant Saturday night…
That’s about it…
Didn’t take any pictures, because you’ve already seen most of the places we’ve visited here…
So… Really boring from that standpoint…
But it was nice to catch our breath from five straight days at DisneyWorld…
We debated whether to go back for a 6th and 7th day, but reason and sanity prevailed, and, instead, enjoyed some “quiet” time close to home…
We got out of Clermont around 8:30 this morning (Nov. 22), and took Hwy 27 South for most of our ride to Fort Lauderdale…
It seems to me that the trip today has the flattest (and most boring) terrain we’ve encountered so far…
Remember when I grumbled about acres and acres of corn fields in the Mid-West?
You should see this place!
Actually, you are… If you peek at my pictures…
The Mid-West has rolling hills…
Florida has them, too, but the country we drove through today is just FLAT…
Hence… Very few pictures to share… I’m sure you understand…
Maybe tomorrow, when we explore some of the beaches around Fort Lauderdale, I can get some shots of other things besides sugar cane and highway signs…
