Hey, good people……..
So…. Here’s August already……. Where the heck did July go?
Why is it that when you’re having fun, the time flies by?
Beats me… Anyone have an answer?
We had the worst night of or trip (so far)…. The wind was howling, the rain was pelting down in sheets, and neither Lu nor I had more than an hour’s sleep all night long… Good thing it’s Saturday, and a no-work day (for some), so we took everything in stride, and slept in! What can I say? Life’s tough all around!
Anyhoo, we spent what was left of the morning just messin’ around inside the trailer (not much choice, really), looking at maps and trying to figure out what to do next; then Lu decide she needed a Walmart fix, and, since we had already checked out the Walmart store in Detroit Lakes, we thought it’d be fun to explore the road ahead, so we drove the 20 miles to Wadena, and found another superstore Lu loved! Did some grocery shopping, and checked on availability of my medicine… Had a good time for an hour, or so, then made our way home, where we caught up on some of that lack of sleep we missed out on last night.
The skies cleared up a little by late afternoon, and we made our way into Perham, where we topped off the tank in Big Boy (Can you believe it? I got 15.8 mpg on the last tank… Of course, that was half a tank of not hauling Big Daddy this time around)… However (without bragging), I’m getting around 12.5 to 14 mpg hauling Big Daddy, and that’s pretty darn good, if you ask me).
We have decided to take off a day early from here (Perham), because, as I’ve alluded to before, we want to “catch” Wisconsin on our way down to Erik’s….
That the Mall of America is “on the way” has, of course, no influence on anything!
So…. That’s it for tonight, and for July……. We’re done here, and on our way to other sites and other States…. There are no more pictures from this part of Minnesota, but I hope to add some in the next few days, as we mosey on down the road to Minneapolis, then Wisconsin and points beyond!
Have a great evening (or morning, or whatever), and keep an eye on the Johnsen Gypsies!
