Not a good night for sleep… Had too much to eat last night, and had to battle Lu’s snoring, but what the hey…. We made it through, waking up still married, and in good humor…. I had a bit of a slow start, of course, but Lu got up with energy to spare, and was soon taking loads to the Laundromat, sweeping the huge 2½ft x 7 ft kitchen wood floor, and making our bed… I must’ve done something important, but I’ll be darn if I can remember what…
The wind was at it this morning…. Still very nice and warm, mind you, but strong enough not to gamble on putting up the awning, and strong enough to tie down the towels we use for our chase lounges…
Sorry, I regress…
All work was accomplished by about 11:00, and it was time to go shopping…. Our refrigerator is only big enough to hold a small amount of anything, so we have to restock quite often, unlike at home, where we can stock up for a month, or more, at a time….. The joys of Rving!
On Saturday, on the way here, we drove by a Walmart Superstore. It’s location (in Detroit Lakes) is about 25 miles back on Hwy 10, so it wasn’t what I’d call very fuel efficient, or cost effective, for us to go back there and shop, but, things like that has really never crossed my dear wife’s mind… As long as she can save a few bucks on groceries, that’s all that matters, and I like peace and quiet, so I drive… 1/2 hour there, 1/2 hour shopping, 1/2 hour back…. Worth every penny, for the fruit of my labor (driving) paid off in a fantastic steak dinner, which we embellished with a salad and a couple of artichokes…. What more could a guy want?
Like I hinted at earlier, the wind has been a pain in the butt all day. Enough so that we didn’t even go swimming, but we did get a bike ride in, so not all was lost…. And…. Maybe it was a good thing to let our bodies rest a bit from the sun? We’ll see what tomorrow brings…
