GLACIER NATIONAL PARK

Sorry, but my vocabulary is horribly inadequate, and I'm pretty much bushed from a full day of sightseeing (yeah, yeah, yeah.... it's a tough job, but somebody's gotta do it), so, for this installment to my bolg I'm going to quote George Bird Grinnell, who said in 1901:

"No words can describe the grandeur and majesty of the mountains, and even photographs seem hoplessly to dwarf and belittle the most impressive peaks."

We are staying at the Glacier Pines RV Park, just outside Kalispell, Montana, and it's about a 35 mile ride up to Glacier National Park, where our journey really bagan today. From Lake McDonald Lodge we jumped on the Red Bus and spent about 6 1/2 hours riding the most scary roadway I've ever been on. It was most aptly named, GOING-TO-THE-SUN road, which peaked (pun intended) at Logan Pass, then snaked its way down the East side to Lake St. Mary, where we had lunch, and then returned to Lake McDonald the same way we came.

So that's it for today...... We're moving to Deer Lodge tomorrow, where we'll spend at least three nights..... Check us out when you have time.
